The History of Kenneth Kaunda Day?

Born on April 28, 1924, in Chinsali, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia), Kenneth Kaunda emerged as a central figure in Zambia's struggle for independence from British colonial rule.

He led the nation to independence in 1964 and served as its first president until 1991. Kaunda was renowned for his philosophy of "One Zambia, One Nation", promoting unity and pan-African solidarity.

Following Dr. Kaunda's death on June 17, 2021, at the age of 97, the Zambian government declared April 28th as Kenneth Kaunda Day to honor his memory and contributions. The day was officially recognized as a public holiday in August 2021.
