Epiphany (Colombia)

Epiphany, also known as Three Kings Day, is an important religious festival celebrated by the Christians, and it is celebrated on January 6 of the calendar that the Churches use.

In Colombia, Epiphany is a public holiday, and it is celebrated on the Monday on or after January 6.

For Western Christians, the feast celebrates the visit of the three kings, which is also known as the Magi or the Wise Men, while for Eastern Christians, Epiphany commemorates the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River.

Epiphany is celebrated in many different ways in different communities all around the world. In Western Christianity, the celebration often involves gift giving, delivered by the three kings; while in Eastern Christianity, the celebration often involves water, baptismal rites and house blessings.
