Defence Forces Day is a public holiday in Zimbabwe, and it is observed on the second Tuesday of August, or the day after Heroes' Day each year. The holiday commemorates the dedication of the country's defense forces and their commitment to protecting national sovereignty and safety.
The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) and the Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) are the main Zimbabwe Defense Forces (ZDF), and Zimbabwe has no navy since as a landlocked country.
