Chhath Puja, also Surya Sashthi or Pratihar Sashthi, is a restricted holiday in India, and it is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated on the 6th day of the Kartikeya month of the Hindu calendar, which falls in the month of October or November.
Chhath Puja is dedicated to worshipping the Lord Surya and Shashthi Devi. Lord Surya is the Sun God, and Shashthi Devi is a Hindu folk goddess and is venerated as the benefactor and protector of children.
