In Outlook, you can easily get the numbers of unread messages because the number is just right after the folder. For example, you can easily figure that I have 338 unread messages in my Inbox folder from Step 1 below. If you want to figure out how many messages in total in a folder, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Right click the folder, for example, "Inbox" folder;
Step 2: Click "Properties" from the dialog box;
Step 3: Choose "Show total number of items" in the new window, and click "OK" at the bottom;
If you want to check the number of unread messages, please check "Show number of unread itmes".
Step 4: Go back to the Outlook and you will notice the number right after the folder is changed.
