When adding a watermark into a word file, the default color of the watermark is always light gray. In most situations, this is totally fine and you do not need to change the watermark color. However, if you do want to change the color of the watermark, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: If not yet have your watermark in the word file, please refer to how to insert a watermark in word;
Step 2: If you have your watermark, double click the header of the word file and move the cursor in the header;
Step 3: Move the cursor on top of the watermark and click on it when the cursor turns into a black cross;
Step 4: Now moving points appear around the watermark:
– The green dot is to change the angle;
– The gray dots are to change the size; and
– The yellow dot is to change the italic degree.
Step 5: Double-click on any one of the dots and the "Format" tab will display in the ribbon;
Step 6: In the "Format" tab, click "Shape Fill" and then select a color from the drop-down list;
If you also want to change the shape outline, please click "Shape Outline" and select a color.
Step 7: After you will see the watermark turns into a different color.
