How to Change Header and Footer On Any Page in Word

When adding the header and footer in a Word document, by default, all the pages will have the same header and footer. If you want to have a different header and footer on each page, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Click the "Insert" tab from the Ribbon;

Step 2: Click the "Header" (or "Footer") command from the "Header&Footer" section;

Step 3: Select one style from the drop-down list (e.g., the Austin style);

Step 4: To have a page different header and footer with all other pages, you need to insert page breaks.

Move the mouse cursor to the end of the page before the target page, and click "Breaks" from the "Layout" tab, then click "Next Page" from the drop-down list;

Step 5: Move the cursor to the end of the target page and repeat step 4 to insert another section break. Now the target page is separated from other pages.

Step 6: Double click the header (or footer) of the target page and click "Link to Previous" from the ribbon to disconnect from the previous page;

Step 7: Move to the next page and repeat step 6 to disconnect the target page from the following pages;

Step 8: Double click the header (or footer) on the target page, and make your new header (or footer) which will be different from other pages.
