Bonifacio Day is a national holiday in the Philippines, and it is observed on November 30 each year.
Bonifacio Day celebrates the birth anniversary of Andrés Bonifacio, who was born on November 30, 1863. He was a Filipino revolutionary leader against the Spanish Empire and was often called "The Father of the Philippine Revolution".
He was one of the founders of the "Katipunan", a revolutionary society founded by anti-Spanish colonialism Filipinos in Manila in 1892. The primary goal of the society was to gain the independence from Spain through a revolution.
Bonifacio Day first became a national holiday in the Philippines in 1921 and celebrated on November 30.
