Bir Chilarai Divas

Bir Chilarai Divas is a regional holiday in the state of Assam, India, and it is observed on the fine full-moon day of the month of Magh each year.

Bir Chilarai Divas is to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bir Chilaray, or Shukladhwaja, who was born in 1510 AD. Bir Chilaray was the prince of the Koch dynasty of the Kamata kingdom. He was also the commander-in-chief and played a significant role in expanding the empire. He was said to have never committed brutalities on unarmed common people.
