Autumnal Equinox Day

Autumnal Equinox Day, also known as September Equinox, is a public holiday in Japan, and it is observed on the date of the Southward equinox in Japan Standard Time, usually September 22 or 23 each year.

Autumnal Equinox and Vernal Equinox are when the Sun crosses the celestial equator. The time of the Autumnal Equinox in the northern hemisphere is the Vernal Equinox in the southern hemisphere.

Autumnal Equinox and Vernal Equinox are the two points where the daytime and nighttime are the same lengths. After the Autumnal Equinox, the Sun begins to rise later, and the night comes sooner in the northern hemisphere.

Autumnal Equinox Day in Japan is a holiday for people to pay respects to their ancestors, and it became a public holiday in 1948.
