Day of Uprising Against Occupation is a public holiday in Slovenia on April 27. The holiday celebrates the establishment of the Anti-Imperialist Front in 1941, which was later renamed the Liberation Front of the Slovene Nation.
During World War II, Slovenia was occupied by Nazi Germany, Italy, and Hungary in April 1941. The Liberation Front was established in the Province of Ljubljana weeks later to resist the foreign occupation, and it became the main anti-fascist Slovene civil resistance.
