There are many ways to compare the differences and similarities in the two Word documents. One common way is to open the two documents in their own windows and view them back and forth. Viewing documents side by side is more efficient and much easier if you want to compare the two documents.
Step 1: Open the two documents you want to compare;
Step 2: Click the "View" tab from the ribbon in one of them documents;
Step 3: Click "View Side by Side" in the window section;
Step 4: You will find the two documents are now side by side. When dragging either documents' scroll bar, the two documents will move simultaneously;
This is a great way to compare the two documents line by line to find the differences.
To Stop Comparing Documents Side by Side
To stop comparing side by side, you need to click "Window" first, then click "View Side by Side". The two windows return back to one window.
To Stop Synchronous Scrolling
If you want to keep the current two windows but not move simultaneously, you can stop that by clicking "Synchronous Scrolling" in the "Window" section;
