Many users may find the shortcut of unhiding columns "Ctrl+Shift+)" does not work. The problem is that Microsoft Windows operating system has assigned the "Ctrl+Shift" keys for Regional/Language settings in changing the keyboard layouts which interferes the Excel functionality.
To change the Key Sequence and make the shortcut work in Excel, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Open the "Control Panel" and then navigate to the "Region and Language";
Step 2: In the new "Region and Language" dialog box, select "Keyboards and Languages" Tab and click on the "Change keyboards…" button.
Step 3: In the new "Text Services and Input Languages" dialog box, click on "Advanced Key Settings" tab and then click the "Change Key Sequence" button at the bottom.
Step 4: In the "Change Key Sequence" dialog box, under "Switch Keyboard Layout", click "Not Assigned" (or one of the other options), then click OK.
The Unhide Column shortcut key "Ctrl+Shift+)" should work properly now.
