When working with a long word document, it is convenient to open a second window of the file which you can work on different portions at the same time, especially when you have two monitors. Please see below for details:
Step 1: Click the "View" tab from the ribbon;
Step 2: Check "New Window" in the "Window" group;
Step 3: A second copy of the file will appear.
