The Names of Islamic Months

The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar which is based on the movement of the moon, and each month starts the observance of a new moon for the first time.

There are 12 months, and each month has 29 or 30 days in the Islamic calendar, so each year has 354 days in a common year or 355 days in a leap year, which is 11 days shorter than the Gregorian calendar year.
