Magh Bihu

Magh Bihu, also Bhogali Bihu, Maghor Bihu, is a regional holiday in the state of Assam, India, and it is observed in the month of Magh, which usually falls in January or February.

Magh Bihu is a harvest festival and marks the end of the harvesting season. To celebrate the festival, people build makeshift huts with bamboo, leaves and thatch, and eat food prepared for the festival. They will burn the hut the next morning as part of the celebration.

Magh Bihu is observed as Makar Sankranti in other parts of India.
