How to Use Dollar Function

The DOLLAR function is to convert numbers to text with currency symbols. The difference between the Dollar function and the ribbon command currency formatting is that the Dollar function converts numbers to text while the command will keep numbers as numbers.

Formula:

= DOLLAR(number, [decimals])

Explanations:

The number is required; the numbers that you need to translate into text with currency signs.

[Decimals] is optional. The number of decimals you want to keep in the results.

– When it is omitted, the default decimal for Dollar function is 2.

– When it is negative, the result is rounded to the left to the decimal point.

Cautions:

– The currency signs might be different based on your computer language setting.
