How to Sort Rows Alphabetically (Left to Right)

When working with the data with many columns and you may need to sort all columns from left to right alphabetically. Please follow the steps below for details:

Step 1: Click any cell in the data range you want to sort (in this example, the 2nd column in red to mark);

Step 2: Click the "Home" tab from the ribbon;

Step 3: Click the triangle after the "Sort&Filter" in the "Editing" section;

Step 4: Click "Custom Sort" from the drop-down list;

Step 5: Click the "Options" button in the "Sort" window;

Step 6: Check the "Sort left to right" box in the new window, then click "OK";

Step 7: In the "Sort" window,

1. Select the sort row in the first box (Row 1 in this example);

2. Select "Cell Values" in the second box;

3. Select "Z to A" in the third box in this example.

Step 8: Click "OK" and the data columns will be in the order you want (the column in red switches the position in this example).
