Using conditional formatting, you can quickly highlight the top 10 or top 10% items. Please see below for details. However, if you want to highlight top 10 items from the list, please check How to Highlight the Top 10 Items.
Step 1: Select the data range;
Step 2: Click the "Home" tab from the Ribbon;
Step 3: Click the "Conditional Formatting" command in the "Styles" section;
Step 4: Click the "Top/Bottom Rules" command from the drop-down list, then select "Top 10%" from the extended list;
Step 5: In the next window, select the formatting style for the top 10% (or to change 10 to any other numbers, e.g., top 5);
Step 6: Click "OK" at the bottom and the top 10% values (there is only one value in this example) will be in a different color.
