How to Add Page Numbers in Excel

There are many different page number formats. You can add page numbers in the header or footer. Please follow the steps below for details.

Please notes that page numbers only display in Page Layout view, Print Preview, and on printed pages.

Step 1: Click anywhere in the worksheet;

Step 2: Click the "Insert" Tab from the ribbon;

Step 3: Click "Text" and select "Header & Footer" from the list;

Step 4: You cursor is in the header automatically. Please click "Go to Footer" if you want to work on the footer;

Step 5: Click "Page Number" and the page number will be added to the worksheet.
