Eid al-Fitr, or Eid ul-Fitr, is also called the "festival of breaking the fast". It is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all over the world, and it falls on the first day of Syawal, which is the 10th month of the Islamic calendar.
Eid al-Fitr is a celebratory occasion that marks the end of a month of fasting, which is also known as Ramadan, please also refer to Hari Raya Puasa.
During Ramadan, all Muslims are required to fast from dawn to sunset and perform religious duties, and the fast is broken after the sunset. Muslims are also obligated to distribute about 2.5 percent of their income to the poor and needy during Ramadan.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and it is a holiday full of joys. Muslims wear new clothes, decorate their houses, visit relatives and friends, and visit the mosques to pray.
